Forbes recently published the lists of the Richest Football Clubs in 2016. Among top 10, five Premier League clubs feature on the list. Two Italian Clubs, two Spanish teams, and only one club from Germany have made it to the top 10 list. So how do these clubs earn so much fortune and other clubs barely earn 10% of them? Well, the revenues mostly collected are from TV sponsors, new Kit deals, European participation, winning major trophies, and stadium match tickets. 1. Real Madrid ($3.26 billion club value)
Real Madrid is one of the most successful clubs not only in Europe but in the whole world. They recently won the European Champions League under new coach Zinedine Zidane in 2015-2016 season. The Spanish club’s total value is $3.26 billion with the yearly revenue $746 million. The primary sponsor of the Spanish giant is Adidas. Furthermore, the club is also sponsored by UAE Air Corporation Fly Emirates.
2. FC Barcelona ($3.17 billion club value)
FC Barcelona or Barca is probably the best club in the last decade and the second richest club in the world. No clubs have ever won as many as trophies in the last decade. Also, the club has won the historic treble two times. The Catalan club’s value is $3.17 billion with the yearly revenue of $657 million. With the new extension deal with the Nike, the club has agreed $157 million a year deal which is one of the most lucrative sponsor fees in football history. Qatar Airways is also the major sponsor of FC Barcelona.

Manchester United is one of the most successful clubs in the world. Although the English team hasn’t won the major trophies in the recent years, it is still the third richest club in the world with the club value of $3.10 billion and yearly revenue of $703m (few less than Real Madrid). Chevrolet, the Principal Partner of Manchester United, made a 7-year deal with American automobile corporation with the vast amount of fee.
4. FC Bayern Munchen ($2.34 billion club value)
FC Bayern Munchen is the richest club in Germany and 4th richest club in the world. The German giant has total club value of $2.34 billion and it’s yearly revenue is $661 million. Qatar’s Doha Airport International signed up as a [platinum] sponsor of the Munich Club.
5. Manchester City ($1.37 billion club value)
On September 2008, Manchester City was taken over by the multi-billionaire Sheikh Mansour. This made the club highly valued and since then, the club has earned a high revenue winning Premier League titles and from sponsor deals. In 2016, Manchester City’s net value was reported $1.37 billion becoming the top 5 richest club in the world. The club climbed up from 7th from the previous year to 5th with the yearly revenue of $562 million.
